Ray Schroeder is Professor Emeritus of Communication, and founding director of the Center for Online Learning, Research, and Service at the University of Illinois Springfield. Ray has published the popular Online Learning Update andEducational Technology blogs for the past decade. He was a Sloan Consortium Distinguished Scholar in Online Learning 2002-2003, recipient of the 2002 Sloan-C award for the “Most Outstanding Achievement in ALN by an Individual,” University of Southern Maine “Visiting Scholar in Online Learning” 2006-2009, and co-founder of the New Century Learning Consortium. Most recently, Ray was named the inaugural 2010 recipient of the Sloan Consortium's highest Individual award - the A. Frank Mayadas Leadership Award. Schroeder is an inaugural Sloan Consortium Fellow.

Bob Hansen is the Chief Executive Office of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association. He currently serves as Associate Provost for University Outreach at USM, a regional public university serving 10,000 students. He previously spent six years at Saint Xavier University of Chicago, as Assistant to the President and Secretary of the Corporation, and then as founding Executive Director of Orland Park Campus and Off-Campus Programs. Before that Hansen served two years in the administration of former Illinois governor, Jim Edgar. Hansen earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois, an M.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Bruce Chaloux is director of Student Access Programs and Services at the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, he oversees a number of programs designed to help students start or continue their education, from the Academic Common Market and Regional Contract Program for Health Professions to adult learning and degree-completion programs. He founded and continues to direct the sixteen-state Electronic Campus initiative of the SREB. The Electronic Campus, the South’s “electronic marketplace” for online learning courses, programs, and services, has grown to include more than 28,000 credit courses and 800 degree programs from 300 colleges and universities in the region.

 

Witt Salley is director of OTC Online, the virtual college within the Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) system. Salley has more than four years of regional accreditation experience through the Higher Learning Commission. Salley's teaching experience comprises more than eight years of traditional and online instruction in English, education, and political science. He has taught not only at the undergraduate level in community colleges but also at the graduate level in the California State University system. Salley serves on the board of the Instructional Technology Council (ITC) as the South Central Representative and as the current President of the Missouri Distance Learning Association (MoDLA). He is a graduate of the Sloan Consortium's Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning as well as ITC’s Distance Learning Leadership Academy.
